Daydreams of Seppuku is an unconventional short novel. First, it is disturbing and graphic -- shockingly graphic. However, it is also cerebral, surreal, and even at times beautiful.
On its most basic level, this is a story about a disaffected woman named Luna who begins to realize that she is living next to a serial killer. However, beneath the surface story is another story - one about Luna's journey toward self-discovery. In the end, I'm not entirely sure Dr. Doom, her monstrous killer neighbor, even really exists - but the questions it raises are what make this book so interesting.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an out-of-the-ordinary reading experience.
